Please note that the Challenge has now largely been completed

We are currently in the process of developing the ideas of the successful grantees (see Stage 7 below).

For your information, a general overview of the process the Challenged followed is outlined below>

1. Explore

Rally your team, explore the brief and come up with an idea that has the potential to create connected communities where older people can thrive.

Check if you meet the entry criteria then register your interest to get the entry form.

2. Network

Learn more about what makes a great entry, strengthen your idea and team at our information event on Thursday 22nd March.

NOTE: The information event has now passed

3. Apply

Download the Expression of Interest Form and apply by 9 April 2018

4. Power-up

Up to 15 shortlisted entries will participate in a one day workshop to put you in the best place for the pitch.

Your idea is just the starting point. The goal of this workshop is to take your idea and the team through a journey to deeply understand the needs and wants of the people your idea is for, clearly articulate how your idea will create change and explore ways to name and test the greatest unknowns about your idea.

The Australian Centre for Social Innovation will facilitate the workshop drawing on experiences running more than twelve Social Innovation Challenges.

To be held at our offices in Adelaide's CBD, shortlisted applicants are required to attend this workshop on 19 April 2018.

6. The Prize

Office for the Ageing will award teams with the best ideas a share of $100,000 grant funding.

Prize recipients will also receive expert coaching in social innovation from The Australian Centre for Social Innovation to develop their idea over a 12 month period.

7. Support

The winning teams are being provided a series of workshops and one to one mentoring support through a structured accelerator program over a 12-month period from July 2018.

This support will provide with these teams with the opportunities to have their thinking challenged, learn from fellow grantees, and learn and apply innovation practice.
